Parts Memory to Automate the Addition of Parts on the Estimate: Example of the Oil Change Services

  1. To save information in a vehicle's file regarding products used during a previous visit, go to the main menu located on the left side of the screen > Inventory > Products & Services.

  2. Select a product or service.

  3. Click on the Garage tab.
Note: The Garage tab only appears when the category is in the 500s, indicating it is a Job that involves an appointment.

  4. Check the box for When adding to a sale, add items from the last sale (parts memory) and click Save.

For example, for an oil change and inspection, you might want the type of oil and filter to be remembered in the vehicle's file to be automatically added to the estimate when the service is selected for a subsequent visit. This process saves time at the counter and mitigates the risk of errors.

  5. For the first Oil Change and Inspection service, you need to normally add the oil, the filter and the recyvling fees products.

Once the sale is completed and paid for, the added products are remembered in the vehicle's file.

  6. Open a new sale for the same customer and the same car.
Add the oil change and inspection.
Notice that the oil, filter, and recycling fees are automatically added.
