Taking Client Tires Out of Storage (Returning to Client from Storage)
If not already done, you must first complete the initial configuration of tire storage in GEM-CAR. See Initial Setup for Tire Storage for more information.
Also, to remove tires from storage to install them on a customer's vehicle or return them to the customer, the tires must have been placed in storage in GEM-CAR. See Placing Client Tires in Storage from the Point of Sale for more details.
To remove a customer's tires from storage, from the Point of Sale, enter the product code RENT. This is the default product code configured for tire returns. Then press the ENTER key.
The tire storage window will appear.
There, you will find the tires stored for the client and the vehicle selected at the Point of Sale.
Select the tires you wish to return to the client.
Note (1): The location where the tires have been stored is indicated in parentheses.
Note (2): The tires return appears on the estimate at a cost of $0, as the storage fees were paid when the tires were placed in storage.
Proceed to Payment even if the balance is $0 to remove the tires from storage in the Gem-CAR system.
Click on Send.
Once the payment is processed, the tires are removed from storage in the system.
